We are proud men and women of Sophia city and Sophia area fire department. Some people say that volunteer fire fighting isn't a real job but to us it is a real job even though we don't get a pay check our pay is when we save a house for a family on Christmas so that little Timmy can have his bb gun or for little Tiffany to get her Barbie set, or a car wreck that somone is praying someone will help them, just seeing a smile on someones face because we are there and they know that they are gonna be ok and safe that's a good enough pay check to keep us going! we took a vow to serve and protect and help anyone that it is in need of our help no matter the consequences we are the men and women that run in after everyone else runs out. when peoples hearts are racing as they run out of buildings in fear of their life we will run in because we are in fear of the single mother that just wants to see her kids again or the little boy and girl that is scared of the flames as they hide behind the couch in their house, we live for those moments so that god can give us the power to do the unthinkable and save someone that thinks they have drew their last breath and them a man our women comes threw the flames and sticks their hand and says " your safe now come with me" as he picks the person up and Carries them out of the building. I am proud to say I would risk my own life for another without even thinking about it and I am proud to say I am a firefighter not only a firefighter but a Sophia city/area fireman! I am here to serve protect and help them in need! FF bell
